Tad Long

About me

Tad Long serves as KLC’s Community & Economic Development Manager. He has 25 years of experience in community and economic development. Tad has facilitated town hall meetings and created numerous strategic and comprehensive land use plans involving hundreds of citizens and community leaders in Kentucky and other states.

Tad is a Certified Main Street Manager, a national designation of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Throughout his 22-year career at KLC, he has worked with more than 100 cities in Kentucky.

He has been the recipient of the US Department of State’s Professional Fellows Alumni Impact Award for his work in Kentucky and Mongolia. He has served as a board member of the Kentucky Heritage Council, Lexington’s Friends of the Farmers Market, and chairman of the Garrard County Board of Education.
