Training Topics

Below is a listing of training topics that will be presented at the CEDS Summit. 

In this session, you will hear from Kayla Bitner (Sublime Media Group) and Jim DeCesare, Brooke Mattingly, and Amy DeCesare (The Decesare Group) on several key topics surrounding social media in 2024. Focus areas include: “The Value of Social Media,” “Media Relations,” and “Best Practices in Social Media.”

Amanda LeMaster, Energy Assurance Coordinator with the KY Energy and Environment Cabinet, and Nick Grinstead, Planning Grants Manager with UK, will give an overview of current efforts to bolster energy resilience in critical infrastructure across the region. Join us to provide feedback on needs in your facilities.

Patrick Bowen, President of Bowen National Research, provides a look at housing development issues across the region and the impact housing plays in community development.

BRADD’s Regional Transportation Planner, Austin Sims, facilitates a discussion between Karissa Lemon, BG-Warren County MPO Coordinator, and Barclay Trimble, Mammoth Cave National Park Superintendent,, on how communities can connect with bike and pedestrian planning. Specifically, the session will look at an ongoing Federal Lands planning project aiming to connect walking trails from Bowling Green to Mammoth Cave.

Karen Foley, City of Bowling Green’s Neighborhood Services Coordinator, and Alecia Johnson, BRADD”s Associate Director of Aging & Independent Living speak on how communities can become more age-friendly. They will also review existing age-friendly services throughout the region.

Jake Moore, CPRG Project Coordinator with the City of Bowling Green and Lee Anne Bledsoe, Advisory Council Chair with the Mammoth Cave Biosphere Region, will discuss innovative approaches to green infrastructure and how green infrastructure can be used to reduce climate impacts in the region.

Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps, Auburn Mayor Mike Hughes, and Edmonton City Clerk Dawn Devore will present a panel discussion highlighting successful recreation projects across the BRADD Region. Come learn best practices and get ideas for future projects in your community.
